IMPOSTARE UN'ALIMENTAZIONE PRE CONTEST

Mi capita spesso di vedere tanti preparatori variare l'approccio alimentare settimanalmente senza verificare i cambiamenti fisici che stanno avvenendo. Diminuendo i carboidrati, aumentando il cardio, abbassando i grassi perché "si fa così" o perché "fanno tutto così", quindi di default.
L'approccio migliore da seguire, a mio avviso, è innanzitutto di non abbassare troppo i carboidrati, anzi, più sono alti meglio è. Direi da 3,5 a 4g x kg di peso. Questo seguito da un moderato apporto di proteine, pari a circa 2g x kg di peso. I grassi tenerli a circa 0,5- 0,8g x kg di peso corporeo.
Settimana dopo settimana, si osserva il fisico e si introducono dei cambiamenti. Se si stanno facendo buoni progressi e, soprattutto, si ha un fisico più magro, meglio non cambiare nulla. Se i cambiamenti visibili sono minimi, si può iniziare ad introdurre l'attività cardiovascolare (da 3 a 5 volte a settimana - da 20 a 45min a sessione).
Data la difficoltà di prevedere in che misura un fisico risponderà oppure non risponderà alle strategie attuate, anziché apportare modifiche affrettate, occorre avere pazienza e attendere gli effetti del cambiamento introdotto, sia esso di riduzione dei carboidrati o l'aggiunta di cardio supplementare, per vedere come incide sul fisico.

Why the lockdown could IMPROVE your physique... If you love to train, the gym is your second home, you skip a cheeky rest day (because rest days are boring I agree) or you can’t say no to training with your mate... I can guarantee you underestimate how much rest your body needs.

I’m guilty, I used to ✋🏼When you love training and want results, you just want to do more!

But training is a lot more stress on the body than you may think. Throw in uni, a high pressure job, a screaming kid or douchebag of a boyfriend and the physical and emotional stress you’re under increases.

Your body might try to give you signs... food cravings, poor sleep, mood swings, a coffee addiction.

So don’t be scared of resting this lockdown, we don’t do it enough. This is an opportunity to be peaceful, still, appreciate time and will do your body the world of good. I have seen clients physiques transform by taking them out of a calorie deficit and giving them more rest and more food.

Of course ensure you still stay active and include resistance training (even if it’s just body weight), but allow yourself some overdue rest. You deserve it. I spent the first week of lockdown with no exercise except for walking.

“MOUNT TIBIDABO”
• The goal for today’s workout is not to get buried in the loading of the DB and instead be challenged with moderate weight grunt work. Make sure to take a look at the overall structure of this workout; it is meant to push us into not pacing and instead moving as fast as possible from the start of the first couplet.
• Also, take note of how little rest we have between workouts; we will not have enough time to fully recover unless we change our pace across each workout.
• We should aim to sprint the first couplet and look to find a consistent and moderate pace in the second one.
• Aim to hold a sub 1:00/200m pace and take 1 breath per rep on the DB deadlift up-downs.
• In the final ‘for time’ chipper, start the DB step-ups at a slow but consistent pace and then try and finish the back half of the workout fast.

Even though I don’t have full access to a gym to be able to go 2-3 times a day as I should be, I’m making the most out of this quarantined prep. Haven’t been able to do all my necessary cardio. Regardless I’m still working 💪🏽 However, if I don’t feel the package I bring in is ready I will push the date back. Assuming my show doesn’t get cancelled. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Don't judge me on the food caddy. 🤣🤣 I couldn't find anything better with the correct height.

Since I don't have much weight to put on the bar I made it harder by pausing at the bottom for 5 seconds. And by that I don't mean sitting on the caddy, but actually tensing and holding the weight just above the lid.

I could only fit under a half of the video on here as total time of the set was 2.30 minutes.

I use one day to go heavy and another using lighter weight but adding extra resistance with the bands like you see in the video.....which adds a different kind of burn!
